This song is about the road that is sometimes traveled in relationships. The initial start is full of love and bright beautiful colors and your eyes are closed to the obvious signs of what's to come. Once in the relationship, the true colors of the person comes out and you begin to see that it wasn't it was you thought it would be like with that person. Autumn Gold identifies with a couple that starts out with hopes and dreams only to have them torn apart by only one person in the relationship doing the things to keep it together. With one person willing to grow and the other stagnant, the relationship itself withers away.
