The track was written and composed by Brian Carter in the summer of 2009, with other lyrics added by his writing partner, Tracy Weber in the fall of 2009. It didn't make it to the album floor until the fall of 2010 after some personnel changes within the band prompted him to review it again. The song is about the humble beginnings of the band and its progression to where it is now collectively.
